The continuous growth in average temperature around the world, caused especially by CO2 emissions, generates climate changes significantly impacts not only economic or social domains, but also human health. The previous literature provides evidence of degradation of human health due to climate change and emphasizes pressure on governments to increase government spending on health. The aim of this study is to analyze the impact of climate change, expressed by temperature and CO2 emissions, on healthcare spending in the European Union member states using available data from 2000 to 2020. In addition to prior research, this paper incorporates supplementary control variables such as governance, macroeconomic factors (GDP and inflation) and human development index. To capture the dynamic impact of climate change on healthcare expenditure, we use the Generalized Method of Moments (GMM) technique and the panel VAR Granger causality method. Empirical findings suggest that an increase in temperature and CO2 emissions levels, along with improvements in governance, economic growth, inflation, and human development, contribute to higher healthcare expenditures. Rising temperature and CO2 emissions are directly increasing the health burden on individuals’ health and force governments to enhance health spending. The paper is notable for its comprehensive approach, filling a significant gap in existing literature by combining climate change variables with governance, economic and human development indicators. The study provides policymakers with valuable insights into how climate change and other governance, economic and human factors impact healthcare spending. Global warming appears as a topic directly correlated with the governmental health spending burden and highlights the need for government involvement in mitigating global warming, reducing pollution and gas emissions.

The paper shows an econometric approach to environmental taxes, economic growth and government expenditures in Visegrad Group (VG) countries from 1995 to 2018. The aim of this research is to explore how environmental taxes affect economic growth in Czechia, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia in the observed period. The subject of the research is to identify the relationship between total environmental tax revenues, energy tax revenues, transport tax revenues and economic growth. Also, empirical research includes the relation between environmental taxation and government expenditures to identify the character of their effects and influence on economic growth through government expenditures. The findings of VAR model I manifest that shocks in total environmental tax revenues and energy tax revenues positively and significantly affect the economic growth, whereas transport tax revenues have a negative and significant effect on economic growth. The results of VAR model II show that total environmental tax revenues are significantly positively related to government expenditures, which is not the case with energy tax revenues and transport tax revenues. Furthermore, empirical research finds a bidirectional causality between environmental taxes and economic growth, as well as unidirectional causality between environmental taxes and government expenditures in VG economies.

Education has significant implications for the economic prosperity of every individual, community, and nation. Education allows us to accumulate knowledge and develop the skills necessary to become active citizens in society. The governments of many countries included education as an absolute priority in their programs, and the United Nations has included it in the central Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda. The importance of approaching financial education as a research area grew with the outbreak of the global financial crisis in 2008 and currently represents one of the main objectives of educational reforms at the international level. Suddenly, the need to educate people to make correct and well-informed decisions grew and financial institutions developed their role in educating people of all ages, considering the possibility of enhancing financial inclusion. Thus, international and national institutions, organizations, academia, and practitioners created programs to improve people's financial skills and literacy.
