An Assessment of the Employment Quality Evaluation System of Graduates From Vocational Colleges

Abstract

In order to evaluate the employment quality of the graduates, two dimensions are assessed: graduate employment satisfaction and employer employment satisfaction. The use of the “Minnesota job adaptation theory” underpins this study in order to establish the quality of talent training and employment work in higher vocational colleges. Empirical research established that although the graduates have high employment satisfaction after graduation, the overall level of employment satisfaction does not remain high due to the lack of recognition and self-confidence in their careers. When the level of employers' satisfaction with employing graduates is high, the higher the job satisfaction evaluation. Hence, higher vocational colleges should follow the vocational education concept of “employment-oriented, ability-based,” and devote themselves to cultivating students' employability, enhancing students' occupational adaptability, and improving the quality of talent training and employment.
