Home emergencies affect greatly the health of inhabitants (mostly children, elderly and dependent persons). Nowadays, the deployment of smart home doesn't require purchasing expensive devices due to advances in communication and computing technologies. However, implementing a customized home emergencies management system is not an easy task. Indeed, it involves two disciplines: (i) Medicine and (ii) Information and Communication Technologies as mentioned by the World Health Organization.In this paper, we propose an approach that hybridizes the two concepts: FSM theory and set theory. The aim is being to facilitate (i) the design of the system behavior for the health professionals, (ii) the translation of the human readable format (emergency management rules) to a machine readable format for the computer specialist, and (iii) mainly the verification of the FSM properties for reducing human errors for both of them. The paper gives the formal description of the setbased FSM, properties that have to be taken into account and the representation of process algebra expressions. Finally, we describe a case study to illustrate the benefits of the proposed FSM.

This survey intends to identify the techniques surrounding a construction of a house that is thermally comfortable and energy aware and IoT enabled. The automated home has renewed interest in recent years largely due to ubiquitous communication and lower cost in computational unit. The Internet of Things (IoT), context awareness and ambient intelligence are the key technologies elements under research for realization of the modern smart home. However, these elements are often implemented individually. This study provides a comprehensive review of the above mentioned methods for constructing of a smart home. In this review, the context-aware application for smart home is discussed extensively in term of thermal comfort and energy optimization base on occupancy. The discussion is centered on intelligence technique which can provide an ambient intelligence home with inclusion of IoT sensor network. This review therein provides a functional mapping on solving the relevant problem surrounding thermal comfort and energy awareness in construction of a smart house.

International audienceMobile devices nowadays are equipped with sensors and technologies that enable context evaluation. Those devices are not expensive in such a way that everyone can buy a smart phone easily. So, developing mobile context-awareness applications for helping dependent persons to deal with their everyday tasks is crucial. This paper aims to develop a new identities manage-ment system that runs on the dependent person's mobile device. This agent will assist dependent persons by giving them information, advices, instructions and helps regarding their activities of daily living. The main idea is to use a simple communication way to identify objects and subjects in the surrounding context of the assisted person. In this paper we propose efficient identification mecha-nisms that take benefit from our well understanding of the context. Our ap-proach simplifies the use of the interaction between dependent persons and the agent. Hence, unlike usual approaches, the identity of a given entity will not be universal by widely tailored to the current person’s context. In the case where the context is shared by many entities with the risk of identification ambiguity, our identification could use different means such as colors or locations towards others for identification of entities
