Abstract: The ultraviolet-visible-near infrared (UV-Vis-NIR) spectroscopy has been essentially used to characterize gem materials and their treatments. The spectrophotometer was designed using a diffraction grating to provide the monochromatic light from a tungsten lamp in analyzing a sample.
