An Application of a Multi-Criteria Approach for the Development of a Process Reference Model for Supply Chain Operations

Abstract: Nowadays, there are a plethora of business process modeling tools for use by researchers and practitioners. This paper presents the implementation of a methodological approach for the selection of such a tool in order to construct a process reference model. This reference model will support the development of a distribution system in the context of the supply chain in the phase of the system’s requirements definition, as well as in the final implementation of the system in real-life supply chain operations. “…Therefore, we consider a low-carbon tourism supply chain consisting of a low-carbon tourist attraction and an online travel agency in the context of a possible crisis event in a tourist attraction. Unlike some of the previous studies that explored the impact of crisis events on specific tourist attractions, single types of tourist attractions or the coping strategies of tourist attractions, we introduced interesting studies on how the idea of supply chain management [48][49][50] into the study of low-carbon tourism is conducive to the sustainability of low-carbon tourism to explore the issue of intercompany cooperation.…”

“…This system operates in a cloud environment and it is offered as a service to potentially interested companies in order to efficiently plan their deliveries and perform the routing of their vehicles based on various parameters, such as time-windows, distribution costs, and environmental emissions. The system uses advanced methods to solve vehicle routing and scheduling problems, taking into account a plethora of constraints [26,27]. The main goal, however, in the research project's context, is to minimize the environmental impact of urban freight transports.…”

“…A sample case presenting the way that these algorithms deal with multiple objectives is shown in Figure 2. Such an algorithm is thoroughly presented and analyzed by [26]. The multi-objective algorithm can offer multiple solutions, which correspond to different plans of routes and schedules of deliveries.…”

“…Sustainable supply chain management has drawn a great deal of attention in recent years and has been studied in various contexts (e.g., [1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8]). Sisco et al [9] define it as jointly considering multiple effects (e.g., environmental, economic, and social) and implementing friendly manufacturing practices during the product life cycle.…”
