An Anomalous Story Of A Rare Percutaneous Intervention To Left Anterior Descending / Right Coronary Artery Bifurcation

Abstract: We report a rare percutaneous intervention to the Left Anterior Descending (LAD) and Right Coronary Artery (RCA) bifurcation in a 77 year old with anomalous origin of the RCA from mid LAD and Medina 1,1,1 bifurcation disease. The LAD/RCA bifurcation lesion was successfully treated using Mini crush technique.

“…Regarding cases where the RCA originates from the mid-LAD, previous reports have described using coronary artery bypass as the treatment for such cases 3,7) . As for PCI, KBT was performed and one stent was deployed at the bifurcation lesions in one case 8) , whereas two stents were deployed in other reported cases 6,9,10) . Another report described a case where two stents were deployed at the proximal LAD and the jailing ostium of the ectopic RCA in a patient with acute myocardial infarction 11) .…”
