“…However, descriptions, taxonomic notes and the distribution of most Egyptian species are scattered about the old literature, which is often accessible only with considerable difficulty. The aim of the present work is to complete a series of studies carried out by SALAH & RÉGIL (2014a, 2014b and SALAH et al (2014) by integrating all published sources and bringing together all the scattered literature on the families Helophoridae, Georissidae, Hydrochidae, Spercheidae, Scirtidae, Elmidae, Dryopidae, Limnichidae and Heteroceridae, in order to provide a summary that can serve as the basis for future progress in the knowledge of these families.
