An analytic hierarchy process for school quality and inspection

Abstract: Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to develop an analytic hierarchy planning-based framework to establish criteria weights and to develop a school performance system commonly called school inspections. Design/methodology/approach – The analytic hierarchy process (AHP) model uses pairwise comparisons and a measurement scale to generate the weights for the criteria. The validity of the approach is confirmed by comparing the outputs of … Show more

“…Therefore, AHP is ideally suited to a project such as this, which needs to do comparative research involving many stakeholders having various interests [15]. AHP is applicable in a wide range of fields, including management, business, and policy [16,17], and is also often used to solve complex problems in environmental management. AHP application in land management is discussed by Schmoldt et al [18].…”

“…The second scenario is considered to be the alternative for the others. Due to the high percentage of organics, wet anaerobic digestion can be very beneficial through energy and fertilizer supply, and is, according to Badri et al [16], the most favorable treatment option for organic waste through energy and fertilizer supply. However, this option requires the source separation scheme of waste at households.…”

“…Sipahi and Timor (2010) stated that AHP is one of the techniques to make the best decision from various alternatives. In another sense, Badri, et.all (2016) and Subedi (2019) state that AHP is a measurement through pair-wise comparisons between elements in each level of the hierarchy, which are assessed by experts to determine policy priorities. Furthermore, AHP is also one of the favorite tools used in decision making, including in the field of government.…”

“…Some examples of applications are within the domains of education, engineering, government, industry, management, manufacturing, politic, social, and sports [5]. In [11], the authors illustrate the use of AHP at school. It was used to determine the quality of a school (ranking) based on the various criteria.…”
