Mitteilung aus dem FORSCHUNGSINSTITUT DER DEUTSCHEN BUNDESPOST, DARMSTADT Übersicht: Frequenzselektiver Schwund führt zu Verzerrungen des Empfangssignals. Zu seiner Charakterisierung werden in der Literatur die folgenden Parameter und Funktionen verwendet: Kohärenzbandbreite, Delay Spread, Frequenzkorrelationsfunktion und Verzögerungs-Leistungsdichte-Spektrum. Deren Bedeutung zur Beschreibung des stochastischen Mobilfunkkanals wird diskutiert. Es wird ein Algorithmus beschrieben, der zur Simulation des breitbandigen stationären Mobilfunkkanals auf den Rechner geeignet ist. Es wird begründet, warum das stationäre Modell für die Analyse der Signalverzerrung im digitalen Mobilfunk von großer Bedeutung ist, obwohl der Kanal im Funkfeld instationär ist. An zwei Beispielen breitbandiger Messungen, die in der Schweiz durchgeführt worden sind, wird gezeigt, wie stark sich die Frequenzselektivität in Abhängigkeit von den topographischen Gegebenheiten verändert. Die Auswirkungen auf die Signalverzerrung bei linearer Modulation wird an Musterfunktionen demonstriert. Wegen der starken Variabilität der Frequenzselektivität wird die Schlußfolgerung gezogen, daß im Mobilfunk entweder mit Bandbreiten unter 20 kHz oder über l MHz gearbeitet werden sollte, während Bandbreiten im Bereich einiger hundert kHz sowohl hohe Schwundreserven als auch großen Aufwand für die adaptive Entzerrung des Signals erfordern.
