“…It is not unrealistic to assume that children's perception of Winchester as a destination would cover three dimensions: (1) their concerns regarding the community; (2) memories and experience of their selected place/attraction in Winchester; (3) their sense of belonging and connection to the community (similar to Canosa et al, 2017). It is also expected that comments for all three dimensions would be rather positive, as Winchester is one of the best places to live in England (Séraphin et al, 2018), and also because, research on adults' perception of tourism and events development in Winchester revealed that both are contributed positively to locals and visitors' Creative and empowering fun activities (Poris, 2006;Séraphin & Yallop, 2019a) The children involved in this study drove the compilation of pictures representing their view on tourism in their community (in a COVID-19 context).…”

“…For this study, Club Med is used as an organisation for two main reasons. First, Club Med is the first company to have put in place resort mini-clubs (Seraphin and Yallop, 2019a); second, because they are keen to engage children (locals and visitors) in responsible tourism through the Club Med Foundation (2020). In many of its resorts (including mountain resorts), such as Rosiere (2020), Huez (2020), Aimee La Plagne mini-club (2020) (Clubmed [Online]), Club Med has created mini-clubs, that is, service dedicated to entertain children while parents are busy doing other activities children cannot partake (Seraphin and Yallop, 2019a).…”

“…The mechanism mentioned above also applies to family tourism, which, given the above dependence, is developing vigorously. Families with children are significant shareholders in the tourist and hotel industry, and their needs must therefore be taken into consideration by tour operators [ 1 , 2 , 3 ]. In 2012, Schänzel et al [ 4 ] noted that tourism and hotel industry operators who neglected to prepare an appropriate and satisfactory offer for families with children would put themselves at a disadvantage in the market.…”
