“…Quantification of phenol and its derivatives are mainly based on selective chromatographic techniques, i.e. gas chromatography (GC) [14, 27] and high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) [20, 21, 28, 29]. However, direct determination is difficult to achieve due to the complex matrices and their presence at low concentration levels.…”

“…As a “monolithic material”, NFMs can be used directly, which effectively avoids the “channeling effect” that exists in the particle form materials. Studies together with our previous works have also indicated that nanofiber mats (NFMs) based SPE has a superior extraction efficiency with only a few milligrams (mg) of adsorbent and a few hundred microliters (μL) of organic solvents consumption. The sample amount required for testing has also been greatly reduced.…”

“…However, post modification of these spun nanofibers to enhance functionality properties with high nitrogen containing compounds is limited. This process has proven to greatly enhance adsorption performance for different persistent environmental pollutants [39,40]. Polyaniline (PANI) is a widely used conducting and electroactive polymer due to its cost-effective synthesis via either simple chemical or electrochemical oxidation [41,42].…”
