As recent buildings have been getting higher and larger, the finishing work management has become a key factor for successful projects. Although many finishing work management techniques have been trying to set up a measureable scheduling plan at early stages before construction lift installation, but schedule adjustments according to site condition and construction progress are inevitable because there are many unexpected variables. To develop the assistance tool for finishing work management techniques such as TACT or LOB(Line of balance), in this study, we suggested image-detection(helmet detection) based labor counting method. The internet protocol cameras at each inside of construction lift cages collect and send photography data to processing server. And through image detection processing using photography data, it is possible to count the number of workers put into each finishing work. The worker count result is used for comparison with the existing finishing work schedule. This study has served as a key lead of lift monitoring based construction process management. Therefore, it is anticipated to settle as a system based data-centric construction management technique in the field.

Construction lifts are key equipment used in the vertical transportation of resources in supertall building construction. Also, according to the increase of vertical lifting distance, construction lifts are becoming more important for successful projects completion. However, a limited number of construction lifts were hard to handle the lifting load during peak-time in which the construction resources are concentrated. Also, a large number of stops caused a decrease of lifting efficiency. Consequently, these problems cause an increase of lifting time of the resources and construction delay can occur. Therefore, it is necessary to apply concept of double-deck elevators to construction lift in order to decrease the lifting time of the resources. In this study, two discrete event simulation models using the CYCLONE are developed to evaluate the lifting time of workers, who are required to be located on the upper floor workplace in the morning peak-time. Also, comparative analysis of lifting efficiency between single-cage lift and double-cage lift is conducted. As a result, the proposed simulation model of double-cage lift shows a remarkable decrease of 38.0% compared with single-cage lift. This result could contribute to set the direction of development for double-cage lift. Furthermore, it is expected to support construction manager to find optimal hoisting plan with minimum lifting time in supertall building construction.

For the past few years, numerous high-rise buildings have been built all around the world. Among them, vertical movement management of materials and labors is closely related to productivity of super-high rise construction. The objective of this study is to develop an embedded lift information system(ELIS) which can increase productivity of multi-cage temporary lift for construction site. And verify usefulness of ELIS through field-oriented testsimulation. The algorithm used in this system is expected to enable efficient respond to complex movement in high-rise construction lifts by applying principles of the vertical lifting operation. The developed algorithm can optimize lift operation time by using lifting cycle estimating method which is generated based on installed lift's specification and real-time sensor data. Current status of lift uploaded transmitted sensor data every two seconds on average has become a vital part of arithmetic computation based on current optimum lift selection algorithm. This algorithm process is main decisionmaker of ELIS based lift control module. This and follow-up study aim to develop unmanned smart construction lift with a goal of improve productivity and safety of vertical lifting in high-rise construction site.
