An AHP-Topsis Integrated Model for Selecting the Most Appropriate Tomography Equipment

Abstract: Selecting a suitable Multi Criteria Decision-Making (MCDM) method is a crucial step in selecting appropriate medical equipment. The aim of the research is to define the most appropriate tomography equipment through the integration of the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) and Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) method. A hybrid model is presented. The AHP is used to define the weights of each criterion and sub-criterion through qualitative comparisons. Then, TOPSIS is used … Show more

“…This is more useful in experts who are not qualified in complex mathematics or the AHP technique. In addition, it has been proved that most the responders tend to use only five judgments (much less, less, equally, more, and much more) for assessing the importance of decision elements (Barrios et al, ; Meesariganda & Ishizaka, ; Pecchia et al, ; Wang, Qin, Li, & Chen, ) Step 2 “Establish the paired comparison matrix”: From the above information, a n × n paired comparison matrix is created. Here, n represents the number of criteria or subcriteria under assessment.…”

“…Below is the description of AHP algorithm: Perform paired comparison matrices for both the criteria and the subcriteria. For this real‐life application, a 3‐point scale has been used as previous works (Ortiz‐Barrios et al, ; Pecchia, Bath, Pendleton, & Bracale, ; Saaty, ; Saaty, ) because the group of unskilled respondents appears to be unclear about using the larger scale (9‐point scale), and inconsistencies may increase. In the 3‐point scale the value 1 is assumed as equally important , 3 as more important , and 5 as much more important .…”

“…Wan et al [17] presented a novel hybrid MCDM method with two-level criteria in an interval 2-tuple linguistic environment to find superior suppliers. A hybrid model with AHP and TOPSIS was presented to select the most appropriate tomography equipment [18]. Zhao [19] proposed a hybrid MCDM Method for sustainability to selected green supplier of thermal power equipment.…”
