An Adaptive Discrete Brain Storm Algorithm Solves 3D Protein Structure Prediction

Abstract: Brain Storm Optimization (BSO) is one of the major effective swarm intelligence algorithms that simulate the human brainstorming process to find optimality for optimization problems. BSO method has successfully been applied to many real-world problems. This study employs BSO method, called BSO-IP, to solve the integer programming problem. Our method collects best solutions to generate new solutions that then search for optimal solutions in all areas of search space. The BSO-IP method solves some benchmark integ… Show more

“…Constraint (15) indicates that the initial loading of the relief vehicle k at the emergency logistics center must be no greater than the maximum loading. Constraint (16) indicates that the loading of the relief vehicle k at the end of the operation on any one patient of the relief route where it is located must be no greater than the maximum loading.…”

“…In the fight against COVID-2019, the BSO can be used to analyze the severity of COVID-19 in terms of the coagulation index [14] or to perform feature selection for COVID-19 classification [15]. In predictive computing, the BSO algorithm has advantages in terms of fast velocity, accuracy, and reliability in predicting protein structures [16] and also demonstrates the effectiveness in the fast prediction of fixations [17]. In the VRP, the BSO algorithm shows a strong ability to explore space [18].…”
