Amplitude-Mode Dynamics of Polariton Condensates

Abstract: We study the stability of collective amplitude excitations in nonequilibrium polariton condensates. These excitations correspond to renormalized upper polaritons and to the collective amplitude modes of atomic gases and superconductors. They would be present following a quantum quench or could be created directly by resonant excitation. We show that uniform amplitude excitations are unstable to the production of excitations at finite wave vectors, leading to the formation of density-modulated phases. The physi… Show more

“…All-transb-carotene as an ideal molecule plays an important role in investigating the p-electron conjugated properties of the shortchain polymer molecule. Numerous studies have been carried out to characterize the physical properties of polyenes through several models, such as the coherent weakly damped electron-lattice vibration model [8], effective conjugation length model [9,10], effective conjugation coordinate model [11], and amplitude model [12,13]. In many studies, the resonance Raman scattering spectroscopy is often applied to investigate the structural characteristics of the molecule, which is one of the most useful methods to identify the phonon modes coupled to an electronic system [14].…”

“…Theoretically, a lot of progress has been made for BEC of magnons and exciton-polaritons [13][14][15][16][17][18][19]. Although the observation of Bose-Einstein condensation of photons is more recent, it has also motivated theoretical studies: Klaers et al predicted a regime of large fluctuations of the condensate number [20].…”

“…Most recent research [27][28][29][30] fueled by experimental breakthroughs [25,31,32] investigates nonadiabatic dynamics of s-wave BCS superconductors in response to fast electromagnetic perturbations. Closely related subjects developing in parallel are exciton dynamics [33], collective neutrino oscillations [34,35], quenched p-wave superfluids [36,37], etc.…”
