Amphitheatralia africana

Abstract: The aim of this paper is to point to the problems concerning the images of amphitheatre "uenatores " sodalities in Roman Africa, especially those represented on some mosaic pavements : the ones of "banquet costumé" and "de la chouette" at Thysdrus/El Djem, the Magerius mosaic from Smirat and the gladiatorian mosaic from Dar Bue Ammera - Zliten villa.
