“…The behavior of the RPE was dependent on the pretreatment procedure used. Titrations were performed after the electrode had been ( ) Polarized at +1.5 volt vs. Ag/AgCl for 1 hour in 1A H2S04, or ( ) Polarized at -1.0 volt vs. Ag/AgCl for 1 hour in 1A H2S04, or (c) Oxidized at +1.5 volt vs. Ag/-AgCl, followed by reduction in 1A H2S04 at various potentials between +0.7 and zero volts vs. Ag/AgCl (S), or (d) Treated (9) by cleaning in hot concentrated nitric acid, followed by anodic polarization in 0.2A H2S04, and then conditioned at zero volts vs.…”

“…has been the most popular method of detecting the end point of the U(IV)-Fe(III) reaction {6, 7). However spectrophotometry (4), amperometry (4,9), and visual indicators (5) have also been used with varying success.…”

“…Determination of uranium in environment is of importance. At present, a number of methods have been proposed for the determination of uranium, including titration methods [1][2][3], catalytic beacon sensor [4], colorimetric sensors [5], inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry [6], atomic emission spectrometry [7], surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy [8] and spectrophotometry [9]. Although each of these methods has its own advantages, there are also some disadvantages in these methods.…”
