Amomum subulatum Fruit Extract Mediated Green Synthesis of Silver and Copper Oxide Nanoparticles: Synthesis, Characterization, Antibacterial and Anticancer Activities

Sarika Dhir,
Rohit Dutt,
Rahul Pratap Singh
et al.

Abstract: This research presents a straightforward, effective, and eco-friendly method for the production of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) and copper oxide nanoparticles (CuONPs) using the dried fruit of Amomum subulatum as a reducing, stabilizing, and capping agent. The formation of AgNPs and CuONPs is supported by the presence of a surface plasmon resonance band (SPR) at 440 nm for AgNPs and 245 nm for CuONPs. Additionally, the identification of specific biomolecules responsible for the synthesis of AgNPs and CuONPs wa… Show more

“…Due to various benefits such as lower doses, improved dosage regimens, reduced adverse effects, decreased drug degradation, improved solubility and bioavailability, and improved patient compliance over conventional therapy, nanomedicines have been shown to be effective therapies and result in encouraging outcomes for the treatment of TB [43][44][45][46]. A wide variety of drug delivery systems using different types of nanocarriers have proven to be successful [45].…”

“…The bactericidal properties of silver and its derivatives have been repeatedly discussed in the literature and have found application in the creation of wound dressings, plasters, and bandages, as an antibacterial and anticancer agent, and so on [ 29 , 30 , 31 , 32 ]. However, most studies where nanoparticles are included in compositions as an antibacterial agent consider the use of an inert polymer matrix [ 30 , 33 , 34 ].…”
