In a study of netilmicin in the treatment of pelvic inflammatory disease in young women, Tulkens et al (29) observed no cochleotoxicity of netilmicin given qd in the low-frequency range and only 1 patient (of 19) with cochleotoxicity in the high-frequency range (3).
