“…Comparing with the spectrum of Mt, new peaks are observed to emerge in that of BAL-Mt at 1427 cm −1 and 2575 cm −1 , providing evidence for the presence of aliphatic C H deformation or bending vibrations and the S H groups of BAL, respectively [18,29]. For the spectra of vermiculites, the O H vibration of the tetrahedral sheets and the asymmetry Si O stretching vibrations of the tetrahedral sheets are observed at 3414 cm −1 and 999 cm −1 , respectively [30,31]. The deformation and bending modes of the Si O occur at 730, 685 and 471 cm −1 [29].…”

“…Numerous investigations have been conducted to evaluate HA removal using various adsorbents. Some of these adsorbents include irradiationcrosslinked carboxymethylchitosan [8], aminopropyl functionalized SBA-15 [9], bifunctional resin JN-10 [10], acidactivated Greek bentonite [11], basic ion exchange resin [12], chitosan-coated granules [13], Mg/Fe-layered double hydroxide [14], amine-modified polyacrylamide-bentonite composite [15], crosslinked chitosan-epichlorohydrin beads [16], Mg/Al-layered double hydroxides [17], fly ash [18], chitosan hydrogel beads [19], layer-structured graphite oxide [20], unburned carbons [21], surfactantmodified bentonite [22], activated carbon [23], aminated polyacrylonitrile fiber [24], and the composite of chitosan and activated clay [25].…”

“…3) is characterized by the presence of vibrations in the region of 2899 to 2128 cm -1 , related to stretching vibrations of -CH 3 , -CH 2 and -CH groups of aliphatic structures, the carboxyl group at 1695 cm -1 and the peaks with frequencies of 1527 and 1360 cm -1 , the vibrations of atoms of the carboxyl group in the Mod-Hum-Co. The FTIR spectra of the obtained samples confirm the formation of metal-humate complexes by binding the metal to donor atoms with coordinated covalent bonds for Mod-Hum-Cu by the 669, 406, 340 and 326 cm -1 peaks and for Mod-Hum-Co by the 606,469,419 and 341 cm -1 peaks which confirm the formation of M-O connection in the complexes [8]. Thus, based on the experimental data it can be argued that the interaction of ions of copper and cobalt with humic substances is predominantly due to adsorption.…”
