Amaranth calcium oxalate crystals are associated with chloroplast structures and proteins

Abstract: Calcium oxalate (CaOx) crystals in plants are formed in crystal idioblasts cells and have specific geometric shapes. Their proposed functions include calcium homeostasis and carbon source, among others.
