Alveolar recruitment maneuver and perioperative ventilatory support in obese patients undergoing abdominal surgery

Abstract: The development of abdominal surgery represents an alternative therapy for the morbidly obese; however, patients undergoing this surgical procedure often experience postoperative pulmonary complications.
