Aluminum phthalocyanine nanoparticles activation for local fluorescence spectroscopy in dentistry

Abstract: Early diagnosis of caries and tooth enamel microcracks is of great importance for preventing the destruction of healthy tooth enamel. Inorder to detect microcracks in the enamel and pathogenic microflora foci that can cause caries, nanoform of aluminum phthalocyanine (AlPc) can be used as a marker. In a colloidal solution, the nanoparticles do not fluoresce, unlike their molecular form. To convert the particle into its molecular form, it is necessary to have a solvent or specific environment (bacteria, macroph… Show more

“…Surfactants affect photophysical and photochemical properties of organic molecules, in particular, spectralluminescent parameters and aggregation state of dyes change (see, for example, [40] ). Figure ESI S6 shows spectral changes in solution of IV/AnthX 2 /CTAB under irradiation of light with 670 nm wavelength positioned close to absorption maximum for monomer IV.…”

“…To perform tooth enamel FD, the model compound containing nAlPc (10 mg l −1 ), Protelan MST-35 (surfactant, 1% by volume) and the complementary components was prepared. The preparation process and the characteristics of the colloid and the model compound, and also considerations regarding the choice of components are described in more detail in [18].…”
