Aluminium Alloy Addition Effects on the Behaviour of Soft Magnetic Materials at Low Frequencies

Abstract: The present paper focused on the effects of aluminium alloy addition on the behaviour of soft magnetic materials at low frequencies. The microstructure investigation reveals that for materials with high aluminium contents, the pores are oriented near or surrounding the aluminium particles. The microstructure investigation reveals that for materials with high aluminium contents, the pores are oriented near or surrounding the aluminium particles, as well as after heat treatment shows coarse-grained structure wit… Show more

“…Several authors [46][47][48] present suggestions for correlation of wear behaviour with the surface topography. The fact that surface wear is influenced by sub-surface deformation [49][50][51][52][53][54] was also effectively used to show the occurrence of delamination and fracture of material resulting in its removal.…”

“…The improvement of wear resistance and hardness is probably connected with the refinement of the hard silicide particles by all alloying elements. Porosity and the pores geometry can also play important role in wear mechanism [16,17]. Sharp-edged isolated pores were reported act as stress concentrators, leading to the nucleation and propagation of microcracks.…”
