Altering the natural history of rheumatoid arthritis: The role of immunotherapy and biologics in orthopaedic care

Abstract: Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) is an idiopathic disease characterized by systemic inflammation, persistent synovitis, and the presence of autoantibodies. Because of the musculoskeletal deformity caused by RA, multiple orthopaedic procedures are regularly performed as part of the treatment.
