Abstract: Using the National Notifiable Disease Surveillance System (NNDSS) and Minimum Basic Data Set (MBDS) for hospital discharges we evaluated pulmonary tuberculosis (PTB) surveillance and estimated real PTB incidence and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) coinfection in Seville in 1998.
