Allopurinol and ellagic acid decrease epileptiform activity and the severity of convulsive behavior in a model of status epilepticus

Abstract: Background During status epilepticus, severe seizures can occur, generating recurrent cycles of excitotoxicity and oxidative stress that cause neuronal damage and cell death.
