Allochroic‐Graphene Oxide Linked 3D Oriented Surface Imprinting Strategy for Glycoproteins Assays

Abstract: Affordable methodologies for screening of disease-related biomarkers are vital for early clinical diagnosis, and can potentially improve the survival rate. Herein, a cost-efficient and easy-to-use approach, called allochroic-graphene oxide linked oriented surface imprinting strategy (AGO-OSI), is imparted for rapid glycoproteins screening with naked eyes. The novel detection principle herein relies on the boronate-affinity sandwich-like assembly, in which the target glycoproteins are specifically captured by t… Show more

“…Zhu, Ouyang and co-workers developed a cost-efficient and easy-to-use method, named allochroic-graphene oxide linked oriented surface imprinting strategy for quick glycoprotein screening by the naked eye. 60 Two key microprobes were designed in this strategy: 3D oriented surface imprinting magnetic nanoparticles and phenylboronic-acid-decorated allochroic-graphene oxide (PBA-AGO). The former functioned as stable and economical synthetic receptors to specifically capture glycoproteins (AFP), while PBA-AGO, functionalized with phenolphthalein, was responsible for signal amplification and readout, avoiding the use of complicated enzyme labeling in conventional ELISA.…”

“…Since the first discovery of graphene, nanomaterials with two-dimensional (2D) structures have aroused widespread research interest worldwide [59][60][61][62][63][64][65][66] . Thanks to its huge surface area to volume ratio, atomic thickness, and excellent electrical conductivity or semiconductor properties, 2D structural materials also show extraordinary potential in the field of gas detection [67][68][69][70] .…”

“…Therefore, GO is an ideal carrier for surface protein imprinted materials. There have been several researchers who applied GO to prepare surface protein imprinting materials 11–14 . In the past, our group constructed Fe 3 O 4 @rGO wrinkled microspheres from reduced graphene oxide (rGO) and Fe 3 O 4 nanoparticles.…”
