Algorithms for Relative Radiometric Correction in Earth Observing Systems “Resource-P” and “Canopus-V”

Abstract: ABSTRACT:The present paper has considered two algorithms of the relative radiometric correction of information obtained from a multimatrix imagery instrument of the spacecraft "Resource-P" and frame imagery systems of the spacecraft "Canopus-V". The first algorithm is intended for elimination of vertical stripes on the image that are caused by difference in transfer characteristics of CCD matrices and CCD detectors. Correction coefficients are determined on the basis of analysis of images that are homogeneous … Show more

“…Throughout the development of remote sensing technology, many relative radiometric calibration methods have been proposed [4]. According to the different ways to obtain the correction coefficients, relative radiometric calibration can be divided into three categories, including calibration-based methods, scene-based methods, and comprehensive methods, as described by Duan [5].…”

“…The vignetting method based on relative radiometric calibration has been proposed for linear push-broom systems [ 14 ]. Laboratory radiometric calibration and on-orbit relative radiometric calibration are important methods of this type for remote sensing camera [ 15 , 16 , 17 ]. The characteristics of the satellite must be measured prior to launch using a laboratory integrating sphere [ 18 ].…”
