Mathematics performance has been recognized as vital in the curricula in most of the country not only for academic success but also for its efficient application in everyday life. The study aimed to determine a significant relationship between the student, teacher, environmental, and parent involvement factors and students’ mathematics performance in a Catholic university for the Academic Year 2020-2021. Also, it determined which factors predict the mathematics performance of students. Using descriptive-correlational research design, 123 Grade 8 students answered a researcher-made test questionnaire to assess students' level of mathematics performance; these were interpreted using the Department of Education’s scale of standard. Furthermore, a researcher-made survey questionnaire was used to examine the level of extent of the four factors influencing the students’ mathematics performance, the correlation between these factors and students’ mathematics performance, and predictors of students’ mathematics performance. The assembled information was dealt with measurably utilizing mean, standard deviation, Kruskal-Wallis, Pearson product-moment correlation, Spearman's rho, and multiple linear regression. Results revealed that students’ level of mathematics performance was fairly-satisfactory (M=79.77, SD=8.96). The extent of influence of the factors is moderate (M=3.28, SD=0.33). There is a significant correlation between the extent of influence of factors as a whole and Mathematics performance [r(121)=0.235, p=0.009]. The results of the regression indicated that the predictor explained 7.3% of the variance [F(1, 121)=9.540, p=0.002, R2=0.073)]. The individual predictors were further examined and indicated that the teacher factor [β=6.440, t=3.089, p=0.002] significantly predicts Mathematics performance. This study provides significant insights into the vital role teachers play in finding a lasting solution to the students' perennial poor performance issues in mathematics in this new normal.

This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of using Team Assisted Individualization (TAI) as cooperative learning teaching approach to improve students’ mathematical cognition. A quantitative research design via experimental design using one group pretest and post-test was employed. This only concentrated on specific students’ processing speed and working memory and included 67 grade 9 students from a public school in the Philippines. The findings showed that the components of TAI were moderately effective under the placement test, effective under the teams, teaching group, student creative, team study, fact test and team score than whole class and highly effective under team recognition, Furthermore, there is a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test scores in each completed stage, and TAI approach is an effective strategy in improving the mathematical cognition of students. This study argues that TAI approach may be utilized in mathematics classrooms to improve the mathematical cognition of students. The gravity of the lessons or topics may be put into consideration to balance the learning and performances of students.

The research entitled The Development of Learning Activity through KWDL Technique Combined with BAR Model to Improve Problem-solving Ability in Math for Secondary 1 (Grade 7) Students made use of a quasi-experimental design wherein the experimental group was exposed to learning activities through the KWDL technique combined with BAR model while the control group learned through traditional. The sample used in this research was 38 Secondary 1 (Grade 7) students from Rizal National Science High School, Rizal Province, Philippines, who studied in the second semester of the 2022 academic year by cluster sampling. The research instruments consisted of 1) learning management plans with learning activities through traditional; 2) learning management plans with learning activities through the KWDL technique combined with the BAR model; 3) problem- solving ability in a Math test. Data analysis included mean, standard deviation, and t-test The results showed that: 1) the problem-solving ability in Math of Secondary 1 (Grade 7) students after studying learning activities through the KWDL technique combined with the BAR model was higher than before learning at a statistical significance level of .05 level; 2) the problem-solving ability in Math of Secondary 1 (Grade 7) students after studying learning activities through traditional was higher than before learning at a statistical significance level of .05; 3) the problem-solving ability in Math of Secondary 1 (Grade 7) students studying learning activities through KWDL technique combined with BAR model was higher than the learning activities through traditional at a statistical significance level of .05.
