Alcaloides de Tabernanthe pubescens

Abstract: The following 12 known alkaloids were isolated from the fruits (f), leaves (lv), trunk-barks (t) and root-bark (r-b) of Tabernanthe pubescens: coronaridine (f), voaphylline (lv), tetrahydroalstonine (lv), voaphylline hydroxy-indolenine (lv), 11-hydroxy tabersonine (lv), ibogamine (t), ibogaine (t, r-b), ibogaline (t), iboxygaine (t), voacangine (r-b), voacangine hydroxy-indolenine (r-b), and voacristine (r-b).Four new alkaloids were also isolated. These were 3,6-oxido iboxygaine (t),

“…Selected alkaloids were profiled using HPLC–MS and displayed a tissue-specific distribution comparable with previous reports ( 7 10 ). In general, iboga-type alkaloids were highest in root, stem, and cotyledon, with the exception of coronaridine, which was low in cotyledon, and noribogaine, which was low in all of these tissues.…”

“…T. iboga produces large quantities of ibogan-type MIAs, such as ibogaine and tabernanthine, in roots and stems. In contrast, the principle alkaloids of leaves are isoplumeran types, including iboxyphylline and ibophyllidine ( 7 10 ) ( Fig. 1 A ).…”

“…Fractions 9 ± 13 were collected and dried to give 60 mg of 1 as a pale yellow solid. [a] D ± 398 (c 0.9, CHCl 3 ): Lit [a] D ± 338 (c 0.5, CHCl 3 )(16). The spectroscopic data (UV, IR and 1 H-NMR spectrum) were in good agreement with those reported in the literature(8).…”
