Abstract:Although malignant melanoma is a rare type of skin cancer, it accounts for most skin cancer-related deaths. Foot lesions may be ignored by both patients and clinicians and could therefore lead to advanced disease. An acral melanoma may also be confused with a pressure ulcer and result in a late diagnosis.
