Aircraft reliability assessment for an individual mission based on recordable flight parameters

Abstract: Reliability of aircraft varies with different missions, because load conditions are always diverse. In limited sample size circumstances, convention aircraft mission reliability assessment method can only give an average result for a kind of mission. Motivated by the practical need of reliability assessment for an individual mission, this paper constructs a novel method, which can assess reliability for a specific mission based on flight parameters. The mission reliability model can be established according to… Show more

“…Aero engines power the aircraft in flight and their reliability directly affects the safety of the aircraft. Current aircraft missions reflect greater diversity and specialization [24], which requires engines with lighter materials and greater performance [36]. The core of an aero engine is a highly complex structure that mainly contains a turbine, a combustion chamber, and a compressor.…”

“…The reliability of an aero engine has direct effects on the safety of the plane. With the continuous improvement of performance requirements for aero engines, the engine rotors with lighter structure mass, larger workload and higher endurance temperature are required, for which the related fatigue and reliability issues are subsequently exposed [1]. Among various components of aero engine, the related fatigue reliability issue of compressor disk has attracted the attention of scholars due to its complicated structure and the load environment [2,3].…”
