This is a review of the most resent results from the investigation of the Ultrahigh Energy Cosmic Rays, particles of energy exceeding 10 18 eV. After a general introduction to the topic and a brief review of the lower energy cosmic rays and the detection methods, the two most recent experiments, the High Resolution Fly's Eye (HiRes) and the Southern Auger Observatory are described. We then concentrate on the results from these two experiments on the cosmic ray energy spectrum, the chemical composition of these cosmic rays and on the searches for their sources. We conclude with a brief analysis of the controversies in these results and the projects in development and construction that can help solve the remaining problems with these particles. CONTENTS

The technique of γ-ray astronomy at very high energies (VHE:> 100 GeV) with ground-based imaging atmospheric Cherenkov telescopes is described, the H.E.S.S. array in Namibia serving as example. Mainly a discussion of the physical principles of the atmospheric Cherenkov technique is given, emphasizing its rapid development during the last decade. The present status is illustrated by two examples: the spectral and morphological characterization in VHE γ-rays of a shell-type supernova remnant together with its theoretical interpretation, and the results of a survey of the Galactic Plane that shows a large variety of non-thermal sources. The final part is devoted to an overview of the ongoing and future instrumental developments.

Proposed a new method for measuring the cherenkov light from the extensive air shower (EAS) of cosmic rays (CR), which allows to determine not only the primary particle energy and angle of arrival, but also the parameters of the shower in the atmosphere-the maximum depth and "age". For measurements Cherenkov light produced by EAS is proposed to use a ground network of cherenkov telescopes which are mounted on drones with the regulated distance depending on the total number of telescopes operating in the coincidence signals and current task, acting autonomously, or includes a detector of the charged components, radio waves, etc. as part of EAS array. In a results such array could developed, energy measurement and CR. This is particularly important in the study of galactic cosmic ray in E> 10 14 eV, where currently there are no direct measurements of the maximum depth of the EAS.
