“…Using the 2021 Kenya Poverty report, we found that most patients (74.7%) came from counties that were classified as moderately to severely impoverished (food poverty rates of 32%-68.5%). 28 Despite our rural location, the long distance that patients had to travel, and the persistently high rates of poverty that characterize our setting, we found no significant distances in the age of treatment for any subset of our cohort.
