“…It was observed from the present study that use of BAP and NAA in the medium helped in shoot regeneration. This result agreement with the findings of Kunshinov et al (1999) Cao et al, (2003, Du et al (2000), Wang et al (2000), Patil and Pillewan (2002) and Sayem (2010). They reported that for shoot regeneration BAP and NAA was the most effective stimulator.…”

“…FPsc plants for transformation were grown on sterile agar plates, and young cotyledon explants were transformed with Agrobacterium tumefaciens GV3101 carrying the UBQ10pro::AtPHYB construct. Hormone conditions used to generate callus and regenerate shoots were as described (Kunvshinov et al, 1999). We were unable to regenerate roots under a variety of conditions tested; however, when we transferred shoots to soil, one of these regenerated a root to provide transgenic seeds.…”

“…Therefore, GFP can be valuable to facilitate the screening process for transgenic plants that express functional proteins, if they are fused to the target gene. This may be important especially when kanamycin (Km) is used for selection since it was recently shown that the proportion of "escapes" may be very high under Km-selection (Kuvshinov et al 1999). The gusA gene is another widely used reporter to detect transformed plants and cells.…”
