Agricultural Risk Management Using Fuzzy TOPSIS Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA)

Abstract: Failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) is a popular technique in reliability analyses. In a typical FMEA, there are three risk factors for each failure modes: Severity (S), occurrence (O), and detectability (D). These will be included in calculating a risk priority number (RPN) multiplying the three aforementioned factors. The literature review reveals some noticeable efforts to overcome the shortcomings of the traditional FMEA. The objective of this paper is to extend the application of FMEA to risk managem… Show more

“…4.4.1. SDG2: Zero Hunger and Sustainable Agriculture Table 11 contains a summary of the reviewed articles related to this category [106][107][108][109][110][111][112][113][114][115][116]. In three studies [108][109][110], their authors combined a utility-based method (AHP) with Geographical Information Systems (GIS) in different localities, namely Bijnor (India), Emirate Abu Dhabi (UAE), and Benue (Nigeria), to access cropland suitability for choosing the best area for a specific crop and the areas where effective management is required.…”

“…Oliveira et al [16] proposed the use of FMEA to analyze and prevent risks in Cyber-Physical Systems; the authors also proposed an alternative method to estimate the RPN in the FMEA using economic impact. Zandi et al [17] suggested the use of FMEA for risks management in the agricultural sector; they add the use of the TOPSIS and Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) methodologies and add the ranking of severity, time, cost, and quality, summarizing that their method works to analyze the risks to investment projects considering those factors. Besides, Celiker et al used AHP and FMEA to [18] solve production problems; later, Karatop et al [19] added AHP, EDAS, Fuzzy, and FMEA methods in a renewable energy problem.…”
