“…From the above literature data, it is obvious that most of the investigated DESs were usually tested only on a few strains and their antimicrobial activity was assessed usually only with one technique (either minimum inhibitory concentration or disk diffusion test); thus, limiting their adaptation perspective. Reviews in this topic have been recently published by us [ 18 ] as well as by Marchel et al. [ 33 ] In the latter one, the authors not only presented the antimicrobial results of different studies done throughout the years but also critically evaluated the methods used for assessment of antimicrobial potential of DESs, highlighting the limitations of different methods and need of standardized protocols that would allow for in‐depth microbiological analysis of the material.…”
