Age-related effects on two-tone suppression and consonant perception in noise

Abstract: Two-tone suppression reduces gain in the cochlea nearly instantaneously in a frequency-dependent manner. In speech perception, suppression may enhance spectral contrasts between regions of higher and lower energy.
