Age distribution and outcomes in patients undergoing breast cancer resection in Saudi Arabia

Abstract: ObjectivesIn response to rising incidence and mortality we aimed to investigate the demographic characteristics of patients with operative breast cancer in our region.MethodsWe performed a retrospective study of 224 patients who underwent surgery for breast cancer at King Saud University Medical City, Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia between 2005 and 2012.ResultsWe identified a young population overall with a mean age of 48.8±12.2 years (range: 26-93 years).
