“…For example, Xu et al (2013b) found that the Hf isotopic compositions of the 1200-900 Ma detrital zircons in the SCB are similar to the contemporaneous Hf isotopic compositions of zircons from northwestern Australia. Dew et al (2019Dew et al ( , 2021 used U-Pb and Hf signatures from Cambro-Ordovician detrital sequences in the Sibumasu Terrane to demonstrate Proterozoic Gondwanan provenance, which is also seen in the SCB. Additionally, the South China, Tarim, North China, Indochina and Sibumasu blocks all have Gondwanan Sino-Australian province faunas in the lower Palaeozoic strata, indicating these blocks were located on northeastern Gondwana adjacent to Australia (Metcalfe, 2011) The c. 1200-1000 Ma zircon grains are commonly found in Silurian-Ordovician sequences (Cawood & Nemchin, 2000;Markwitz et al 2017;Olierook et al 2019).…”

“…High‐grade regional metamorphic rocks comprising garnet + sillimanite gneisses and migmatites crop out to the SE of the Mogok valley but are poorly mapped. The surrounding rocks to the east comprise the Neoproterozoic‐Cambrian Chaung Magyi Group (Dew et al, 2019), although the nature of its contact with the Mogok metamorphic rocks is not known. Overlying the Chaung Magyi Group are the Cambrian‐Early Ordovician Pangyun Formation quartzites, sandstones, and siltstones and the Bawdwin volcanic series, which host the large Pb‐Zn‐(Cu‐Ag‐Ni) deposits at Bawdwin mine (Gardiner et al, 2017).…”

“…These granitoids are another possible source of Triassic zircons in sediments of the western Sibumasu Block in Myanmar. In addition, an active continental margin was developed along the northern part of the Sibumasu Block during the Neoproterozoic to Cambrian, based on detrital zircon study of metasedimentary rocks from the Chaung Magyi Group in Myanmar (Dew et al 2019). The granites and gneiss in the Sibumasu Block have inherited zircon core ages during the Proterozoic to Palaeozoic (particularly Neoproterozoic and Cambrian), suggesting the recycled material from protolith of granitoids (Dew et al 2018;Kanjanapayont et al 2020).…”
