Ag2[Fe(CN)5NO]-Fabricated Hydrophobic Cotton as a Potential Wound Healing Dressing: An In Vivo Approach

Abstract: There have been reports of different types of wound dressings for various functions and purposes. Cotton being one of the most widely used wound dressing material due to its non-toxic, biodegradable, and other properties is used for fabrication as well as in the form of scaffolds for faster and effective wound closure. Our research team has already demonstrated the role of silver nitroprusside nanoparticles (SNPNPs) for wound healing and antibacterial activity. In the current study, we have developed cotton fa… Show more

“…Ocimene which is found in trace amount in the oil from the Nigerian plant is found to be 5.3% of the oil from the plant collected in India. [28] α-Pinene 6.6%, eugenol 4.4%, and methyleugenol 1.8% are also obtained from the Indian plant oil. The major sesquiterpenes are β-caryophyllene, 1.9%, [29] 10.5% from the oil obtained from Cameroon [30] and 14-17% in Pakistani oil.…”

“…Interestingly, there is only one nanomaterial that researchers measured cyanide release and even showed it was mainly trapped by the nanoparticle . A silver nitroprusside nanoparticle did not show any evidence of a biological role for SNP nor NO, which seemed to function mainly as a matrix to deliver silver. , …”

“…The bioinspired substrate, gas discharge plasma, electrodeposition, and sonochemical method can congregate or coat NPs on textile, films, and polymeric surfaces . The collective antibacterial materials are Ag (silver), Au (gold), silver nitroprusside nanoparticles (SNPNPs), and Mg-coated substrates with anti-biofilm properties . The development of gold-coated fabrics with anti-biofilm formation from sensitive bacteria is significant .…”
