Abstract: Background: Vagus nerve stimulation (VNS) has recently been introduced as a nonpharmacological therapy for disease characterized by an exacerbated immune response, with clinical trials demonstrating its efficacy for autoimmunity and sepsis by reducing inflammatory proteins and improving disease scores.
