Afasia y esquizofrenia: aspectos lingüístico-comunicativos

Abstract

Communication is a multidimensional dynamic process that involves context and subject. The functioning of the brain, language, hearing, speech production, stomatognathic system and larynx, among others, directly affects the viability and quality of human communication. A cognitive communication disorder is caused by the deterioration of the functioning of one or more cognitive processes, such as attention, memory, perception, organization, language, processing, problem solving, executive functioning and metacognition among others. Aphasia is a language disorder, caused by a focal brain injury, which affects different aspects of communication, production and understanding of oral and / or written language. In schizophrenia, language and communication disorders are the basis of substantial disadvantages because they affect interpersonal skills and relationships, personal recognition, social integration and work. It is currently important to distinguish the signals that differentiate the two pathologies, from a speech and language pathology perspective, so that the attention to the subject/patient may be developed with more efficiency and the relationship with other professionals more dynamic.
