Abstract: Readily accessible N-sulfonylaminophthalimides were developed to be efficient sulfonyl radical precursors upon being treated with a base/oxidant under mild conditions. The method was applied to the oxysulfonylation of olefins, providing βketosulfones and isobenzofurans stereoselectively.
