“…Ku et al conducted a study on nineteen residency programs at the Sandford University School of Medicine and concluded that for the women and minority applicants, "perceived" program diversity is an important factor in making their decision for program ranking in surgical training [19]. Furthermore, residency programs with a greater diversity may be more attractive to URiM applicants as these programs may show a perception of being more committed to providing care for the underserved population [19][20][21].
