Adverse Effects

Abstract: The three approved nucleoside analogues are fairly well tolerated, and only a few patients have to discontinue therapy permanently. However, because clinical experience is limited, especially with ddI and ddC, delayed toxicities are likely to emerge over time. In addition, physicians should be vigilant for overlapping toxicities from combination therapy with these and other medications.
