Advancing Nursing Research in Hospitals Through Collaboration, Empowerment, and Mentoring

Abstract: Meeting the Magnet Recognition Program® requirements for integrating research into practice can be daunting, particularly for nonacademic hospitals. “…Often, it is unfeasible to hire a nurse researcher, which means clinical nurses must be developed internally and are externally sought to "promote, sustain, and evolve nursing research efforts" (p600). [7] Nurses provide valuable information and insight and are integral members of the research team.
