Advances in professionally applied topical fluoride in prevention of dental caries: a narrative review

Abstract: Fluoride is a double-edged sword. The early optimum exposure during formative years yields preventive effect, however exposure beyond permissible level may exhibit discrete pitting to corroded appearance of enamel. The above review highlighted the advancements in fluoride administered topically.
