Advancement of Wnt signal pathway and the target of breast cancer

Abstract: Wnt/β-catenin signaling has been proved to play an important role in the development and promotion of cancer metastasis. The activation of Wnt signals can lead to duplicating, updating, metastasizing and relapsing. The Wnt signaling pathway is mainly divided into the Wnt/β-catenin pathway and the Wnt/calcium pathway. A better understanding of all the diverse functions of Wnt and their molecular mechanisms has evoked prevailing interest in identifying additional targets related to the Wnt /β-catenin pathways in… Show more

“…Gene therapy utilizes virus to deliver and replicate new genes into patients' cells to replace damaged genes. This approach is a very selective targeted approach for precise molecular abnormalities associated with development of breast cancer, like mutated BRCA1 and p53 genes [49,50].…”

“…EMT is a dynamic process that appears to facilitate tumour metastasis by switching the cell phenotype from epithelial to mesenchymal (122,123). Furthermore, nestin silencing significantly upregulated the expression of proteins involved in the inhibition of the Wnt/β-catenin pathway, which is crucial for the regulation of the proliferation and tumorigenicity of stem cells (124)(125)(126)(127). In addition, the inhibition of the Wnt/β-catenin pathway in nestin high CSCs significantly limited their tumorigenicity.…”
